I just finished reading Bail Enforcer by Bob Burton, really good book! I haven't read his first book, Bounty Hunter, yet...should I or is it out dated? I would think that the principles still apply but some of the laws and technology has changed.

Concepts, logic, principles, etc are time honoured lessons that never grow out of date.

Yes, the specifics of the era in which it was written may be outdated, but the lessons in general are still valid.

I agree with LuVonda and RWB. Read and study any and every material applicable if you are interested in this biz, but if you are interested in current info and real life work, get Rex's writings. We know him personally, and he is always updating his videos and info.

Rex also has an excellent piece on teching off of bonds, a major part of our job for those that are not afraid or intimidated by a courtroom setting. Also, Scott Harrell has incredible knowledge available through his online classes, all of my investigators participate in his continuing education lessons, including me :) www.beabountyhunter.com and www.pieducation.com

I have often said that someone outside of this industry, when informed of an individuals accomplishments, work ethic, hours per week applied to this craft etc. would call BS rather than understand that we are a different breed. I have learned that the greatest majority are type A over achievers that have varied accomplishments in multiple fields, are well rounded and worldly with unusual life experiences to draw from. when this is compared to themselves, that cannot accept it as factual.

Viva la Diferance
