Post subject: | Ohio Law Question |
I am new to the Bail Industry. Me and a sibling are forming a buisness. I have read the legislation of ohio bail agents so far and I am wondering this fact. Is the Assurity Agent different from the Recovery Agent and if so do both need to be Certified or only the person writting the bond? I was told that the writter of the Bond had to be certified thru the state of Ohio but the recovery agent did not is this true? and what is the firearm law? I passed my background and class for the carry permit but I was wondering if the Ohio law is that anyone acting as a lawqful arrest even civilian may cary or brandish a weapon? Oh and if this is the wrong topic for this thread then sorry just point me in the right direction :D |

Start at your state building contact your attorney generals office they should be able to provide you with all the information there along with licensing requirements. You can also check the law directory on this site! |

The State of Ohio requires you to be license as a Surety Bail Bond Agent to do bail bonds and recovery work. Here is the link for the license. http://www.ohioinsurance.gov As for the laws on Carrying a weapon, check with your local Sheriff's Department. Reminder for you, Do not get caught doing recovery work without being license as a Surety Bail Bond Agent or Private Investigater License. You can't even get into the jails without a agents license. |
