| Post subject: | NY Bondsman Licensing |
Hey Everyone...Maybe you can help me out here... I am a NJ licensed bondsman and I am looking to get a non-resident license in NY state. I have contacted the state and I am pretty much aware of what is needed. They are requiring that I take the test, but not classes. I actually want to take the classes so I can become familiar with NY state law regardless. If not classes, I want to get some reading material. My employer is going to become licensed in NY soon to write bonds, so they really do not have much info for me but I want to get ahead of the ball. I have looked over the insurance code for NY relating to bailbonds and it is pretty basic. I have also called the class vendors on the website and none of them offer just a bail bonds class. Maybe I am missing something? Can anyone direct me towards some good reading material relating to bonding in NY or someone that teaches classes? Even an insurance class where I can sit in for the bail bonds part. I know for other lines there are classes required, like 90 hours. Any info you guys can supply would be appreciated.
