OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL DEPARTMENT OF LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY DIVISION OF STATE POLICE POST OFFICE BOX 7068 WEST TRENTON NJ 08628-0068 Governor: JON S. CORZINE Attorney General: Stuart Rabner COLONEL JOSEPH R. FUENTES Superintendent New Jersey Is An Equal Opportunity Employer Printed on Recycled Paper and Recyclable May 30, 2007 To all bounty hunters, bail runners, bail recovery agents, bail enforcement agents, fugitive recovery agents, or any other person who, for a fee, hire or reward, act in such capacity. The Bounty Hunter Licensing Act, N.J.S.A. 45:19-28 to 45:19-42 was enacted on January 12, 2006, with an effective date of February, 2007. However, the legislation also recognized the ability of the Superintendent of State Police to take such anticipatory administrative actions as shall be necessary in order to fulfill his statutory responsibilities under the act. Therefore, since immediate implementation of the act cannot be accomplished, the Superintendent has directed that the original effective date established by the act be postponed. Upon complete development of all programs required for implementation of this act, notification will be provided for the new effective date in a timely and efficient manner. This action will not alter any provisions of the Bounty Hunter Licensing Act, nor any time periods established by the act for the filing of applications. Potential applicants are encouraged to maintain contact with this web site for future updates and details regarding program development and implementation of this act. Thank you for your cooperation. Rick, first off, welcome back brother, good to see you. As it stands, NOTHING has changed yet, when the process begins, it will be posted here by me as a heads up to all NJ agents. Remember, this delay and time lapse does NOT count as time accumulated toward the 5 year grandfather law. It is based on the 13 month time period after this ammendment was enacted. Give me a call, so I can give you some advice on your move to SJ concerning employment. ........... Yak |

Thanx for the welcome back Yak. As it stands, the only excuse they keep giving me is that they are over-whelmed with the new SORA act and they are beating themselves up over getting all these security guards licensed. Besides that, Ive been calling them every month with nothing new said to me. It just really stinks that they wont give the public a more direct answer as to what is going to happen with this, because i want to start getting all the qualifications taken care of to be eligiable asap. |
