I noticed there were 25 states that dont require you to have a license to do recovery work. Is this a fact or are the laws on this site a little outdated? I would like to know just for my personal info. If anyone knows different please let me know.

admin on this site is compiling all new laws but as you well know every year some change--my suggestion is look them up on this site under law directory and compare them on other sites than call the states ag to make sure you are up to date

yes it is a never ending battle

I've learned my lesson in the last few days, I'm no longer bonding anyone out thats not a citizen.

I've been waiting for a guy the last few days, i've had numerous calls saying he was getting redy to go back to mexico, beacuse he was probably going to get 8 years or more.

sat in his aprtment complex for 8 total yesterday, went there at several times during the night.

theni got the call this morning, the apt manager called and said he was there right now, i showed up 10 minutes later, and it was just his room-mate.

going back there in a little bit to check again.

Most of our lessons are learned "the hard way". I won't bail a national or sometimes even people from otheer states unless I have 100% of the bond, plus my fees up front. Sometimes I have revoked or refused a bond at the jail when I learned the person wasn't a US citizen after being told differently by the cosigner or the person while posting the bond. It's a rough choice, but if the person decides to go home, you may have no recourse on paying the forfeiture if the bondee skips on you.

as most of you know LAW and I have 3 of the 4 bondsmen in mass nh vt me--we advise all of our bondsmen never bail non citizens unless the bond is 100 percent collateralized.we have many canadian citizens who get into problems here than just go back to canada and are almost impossible to get back--we also are a federally designated resettlement site for africans--many of them get into trouble because of the culture difference and wind up going back instead of standing trial--all non citizens are a greater risk than citizens period
