Have already done that, to no avail. Whether the world of BEA's and Hunters like him or not, the public is unfortunately intrigued by him. He sells ad spots for the stations. The best thing we can do to fight this one is to do the best we can. I'm looking forward to this new show on HBO. From what I understand it is based on a reputable family. Maybe once people see the difference, they will begin to lose interest in Doggie. ??any thoughts?? |

Focusthree, I may not agree with Mr. Chapman's way of doing things, but I have to step back and admire his media savy and gutsy move to take down Luster irrespective of the legal authority to do so. Moreover, I think I'm the only one on the forums who has admitted that the guy is starting to grow on me to the extent that his next move will be watched with interest. The problem is one has to wonder when he's going to do something that upsets the current state of the trade as we know it. Rex |

If anyone can make out the center seal on the badge Mr. Chapman wears please so advise. It appears to be the Colorado state seal but my eyes aren't what they once were. As regards debating with Mr. Chapman on national television... he long ago refused such an offer from me. |

Did anyone hear what happened at Beth Smith's (Chapman's so-called partner) hearing in Colorado where she had several felony charges pending? Please advise. |

L.A.W., Surely there has to be someone who frequents the BEA forums who can meander on over to the court where Smith's case is pending for a quick peek at the docket. I may be mistaken, but Mr. Chapman's Colorado work has been noticeably missing from more recent TV appearances. If this is a fair observation, perhaps he has been made aware that his BE activities in Colorado are not conducive to Colorado State law. You may want to find and PM 'avalancherecovery' if I have the screen name right. Hold on....L.A.W., I'll send you a PM. Rex |

I received an email reply to my query from the Colorado Secretary of State ... "Illegal use of the Colorado state seal on a badge not affiliated with Colorado law enforcement or any agency or organization not established by an arm of the State of Colorado is a class 5 felony." The statute is CRS 24-80-902. If the center seal on Mr. Chapman's badge is that of the State of Colorado ... well, you know the rest of the story ... no one is going to prosecute him and he knows it! |

Shortly after my previous post I received an email from Trooper Silva assigned to the Hawaii Governor's Office. If the center seal on Mr. Chapman's badge is that of the State of Hawaii then it is a misdemeanor under HRS ยง5-6. No matter which state... a state seal on his badge is illegal. |

Mr. Chapman and his wife's show is scheduled to air the first episode tonight on A&E. If I can catch the show the type of seal he's using will be watched for. It will have to be a rather tight shot bearing in mind that people can obtain badges with generic seals that resemble but are not exactly like official state seals. I'm not clear as to whether or not the elements of a given state law include exact language that would cover the use of non-official state seals. Anyone got the answer? Rex |
