I thought that the following was worth mentioning.

In response to my mistaken belief of posting a recruitment ad (BAIL ENFORCEMENT AGENTS WANTED) on a professional forum, the following statements were made:

"That is just a fancy name for bondsman.many in texas have been jailed for violating the law.they more often than not lie about being police officers.that is also a crime......"

"The dreaded Bounty Hunter and Bail Enforcement wordage."

In my view the above-responses were born out of a soccer hooligan type mentality with tacit authority from the web site moderators.

When offered a rebuttal, neither poster could respond with any intelligible counter-point.

In any event, one has to wonder what types of people consider themselves 'real police' when their clearly unprofessional behavior suggests that they can neither pass a psychological or oral board, in my opinion.

If anyone is interested in viewing the exchange, you may be able to reach it via http://forums.realpolice.net/index.php though the thread is now locked.

rex i just registered for that web site-like you i have seen many "real cops" locked up and released on bail - i have even gone after and arrested a couple that skipped-
i believe this trash is most likely from an experiance with a bounty hunter like doggie not a bea pro-this is why we need to work hard to educate our people and the public-i am willing to bet most of us have made more felony arrests than that poster has even seen let alone made-small people small minds

It makes you wornder where these guys are from. And what their backgrounds are. Here in PA we have this happen all the time and most of them are state constables. In pennsylvania a state constable can't act as a fugitive recovery agent, But they do. We also have so called bounty hunters that look for actors, but have no paper work at all. If they find an actor they call the bail bondsman. and then the bondsman gives them all the paper work.. and people want to know why we have a bad rep..

Rex,

Was this a law enforcement board that you posted your ad?

realpolice.net bears a forum with numerous catagories. One of the areas is marked "Jobs."

I scanned many of the topics and found that most were people looking to get into cop jobs or simply had questions of cops.

My current team is all ex-LE, and the members I've lost have gone onto LE jobs at one time or another.

It was my intention to at least offer a chance for people to get their feet wet on the streets.

My post was sincere and immediately attacked by a regular crew given to very immature and unsubstantiated remarks.

I got a kick out of the realpolice.net site. Makes you wonder how professional some them are with over 5k posts in one year. Hmmmm, maybe high school or college kids with nothing better to do.

Stay safe, out.
