You know on the way to playing basketball with my older brother. I mentioned something about getting my CA classes done for bail recovery when I would hit 18. He fully supports me because we have a ton of cousins and other family members who went down the wrong road at my age when counting in the law.

But he brought something up very common. I don’t know, what do you guys thing?

It’s very random. He told me that bounty hunting yeah is very hard at times, and it isn’t just doing the arrest and bringing back the guy for that money. He told me maybe once in a while family members of the arrested suspect would try to get revenge on you?

Has that happened to anybody on here? Family members of the suspect trying to get revenge on the Bail Recovery Agent for bringing in the criminal? Is it likely to happen.

I replied with a, ‘BEA work for Bail bondsman who help the criminal out by bailing him out of jail and keeping him in check. Bringing him back is a good thing and a bad thing in a way…’ but he still replied with a … ‘If you’re going after a suspected gang member, his gang friends wont care who you are or what you do. They’ll only know you put him back in jail..’

Your brother is 100% correct. I'm sure everyone has received threats. Many are just scare tactics, some are valid. All should be taken seriously.

It sometimes pays to have friends in low places, and the most serious one that we heard about was one that had been countered by our "protection" before it even got to us.

And, I personally know someone who had to relocate due to attempts on his life. The first being by the guy when he and his team went to get him. The others were by his gang buddies.

No matter what level of the CJ system you enter, retaliation is always a real consideration. Cops, prosecutors, judges, attorney's, etc have all been victims of vengeance.

Brake lines fail, engines and houses catch on fire, tires blow out on isolated highways, food gets poisoned...etc.

Even pets get killed..sometimes blatantly..sometimes "coincidentally" as messages.

If this scares you, it's a good thing. Stay out of this field...stay in school, get a job in real estate, finances, join the military..something with benefits and a pension. 18-22 should be college. Age 22 in 1 job for 20 years=age 42 retired with benefits and a pension.

Whenever I have been threatened I took the fight to them....Anything they can do to me, I can do to them.

IF YOU DON'T LEARN ANYTHING ELSE FROM HERE....WRAP YOUR BRAIN AROUND THIS: ANYONE CAN BE TAKEN OUT ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, BY ANYONE WITH ANYTHING....PERIOD !

I think our points were well taken. If these people weren't willing to accept the dangers they wouldn't be doing the jobs they do.

No worries.. :D

When I horse ranched, I often led animals to water. Even though I knew they needed to drink, sometimes they just wouldn't do it.

Simply proving the old addage of "you can lead em to it, but you can't make em drink it."

For the life of me, I simply cannot understand why a 15 yr old aspires to do this when we all know the realities and complexities of this industry. But there again, it's not my life, and he is not my problem.....

He is aspiring to be like us - SO - BE NICE.
I for one think that is great that someone would be curious enough that they would ask questions rather than the TV and getting their information from the ones that we so admire.
