Post subject:  Anyone in Alabama that can answer some questions for me?

I have searched the forums and been all over the internet. I still have some questions about the bail bond and enforcement business specific to Alabama. If you are from here and have Yahoo IM or AOL IM, I would greatly appreciate if you could spare me a few minutes of your time. Thank you in advance.

Let me just get these out of the way. I know this is a BEA site, but quite a few people here appear to write bonds as well.

Some of the verbage in that site confuses me a little bit. I know in Alabama thet each county you want to be able to bond people out of jail from you need to have a seperate corporate surety bond for 25K. I got that part. Now, is 25K the most you can write in bonds at one time? I am a little confused on that part. IF someone can explain I would appreciate it.

My plan is to open a small office in a couple of counties and do our own recoveries. Ive owned my own fire alarm/ security company for the past 10 years and am wanting a change. Thank you for any information.

All counties require 25K to be placed in a CD in the owners and circuit clerks name. Except Cullman County and they only require 10K. We are in several counties and only one county caps the amount of the bond you are able to sign. You have $75K, you sign up to a 75K bond. We are not backed by an Insurance Company. You qualify once a year to show your net worth.
