First, let me welcome all members (New and those that have been with us awhile)

An email has been sent to several hundred persons that have requested membership in our forums and have not yet activated their accounts.

Also, an email has been sent to those that have joined but never participated (aka having never posted.)

Further, an email has been sent to those that have only posted 4 times or less.

If I receive a "bounce back" from the email that was used to join - these accounts will be deleted. This will certainly reduce the number of members to those that are actually ACTIVE members.

Sample of a "bounce back":
Quote:
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

user@domain.com
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<user@domain.com>:
host mx1.domain.com [xxx.xx.xxx.xx]: 550 Invalid recipient:
<user@domain.com>
This will also cause some posts to be deleted, thereby causing some potential confussion in threads where other members may have responded to a post made by these deleted accounts.

This action may help eliminate many of the fraudulent accounts that have been created to either stir up trouble or post links to various types of unwanted websites.

Additionally this may reduce the amount of clutter that we have experienced in recent history in the forums.

Further, many of the posts/threads will be relocated in an effort to make it easier to follow and locate the information that a visitor may seek.

The Announcements & Stickies that are at the top of this forum will be moved to the "Latest News" area that is under the Administrative Section.

If anyone has suggestions for the improvement of the site or the forums, please post these in the "Comments or Suggestions" area

Thank you

Is there a way to delete the accounts without deleting the messages? It does make it hard to follow when u see a bunch of posts out of nowhere referring to nothing in particular.

Also, I feel that someone who attends the forum by reading it regularly is just as much a participant as somone who's always posting. Maybe even a *better* participant than a poster on some subjects ...

I think the way the board is setup and run is far above the others, especially in this industry/interest area, but also all other web forums I've seen.

No longer will we delete any accounts that have previously posted - I have found myself spending the greater part of the day deleting nearly 100 accounts thus far.

However, we will continue to delete any account that is not activated within 7 days.
