If the City gets its way, there will be a lot of unemployed bail agents in SF. And it could then spread through out the entire state of California.

Now for any dis believers, it can happen and probably will eventually. The courts along with the public defender office is already OR'ing many serious and violent arrestees.

Tony,

In my backyard a DUI was a $10K, now it is an ROR. You have to practically kill someone, while simultaneously
molesting a child and robbing a bank to get put on bond. Even then it would be an UPB (Unsecured Personal Bond)
that nobody but the criminal is responsible for. If you study this field, most criminals age out of the system, by getting smarter
with the crimes that they continue to commit, an extended stay in the gray bar motel, or when abated by death. I have
observed defendants that are former clients continue to escalate their criminal empires and activities unabated.
There no longer exists any deterrent to crime. I concur that the current criminal justice system does not work, but eliminating
commercial bail is also not the answer. A criminal does not cease to commit crimes or successfully pass drug counseling because the court
orders them to do so, it is only when they have had enough of the system. Softening the system is no deterrent to crime.

Scott
