“DAMN GOOD STUFF”… pay attention…

This was sent to me from an old Marine buddy who probably has experienced most of the following… served three tours in Vietnam… late 60’s. Semper fi my friend.

“Military Common Sense Advice from years gone by; relative to all”

Common sense advice taught in military training from air to ground and in between. These can apply to us all in most of life’s scenarios.

“Never fly in the same cockpit with someone braver than you.”

“There are bold pilots and old pilots, but very few old bold pilots”

“Never tell the platoon sergeant you have nothing to do”

“Never draw fire; it irritates the people around you”

“If the enemy is in range, so are you”

“Try to look unimportant, they may be low on ammo”

“Bravery is being the only one that knows you are afraid”

“Don’t ever be the first, don’t ever be the last and never volunteer for anything”

“The only time you have too much fuel is when you are on fire”

“Five second grenade fuses, last about three seconds”

“If it’s stupid but it works, it isn’t stupid”

“No combat ready unit has ever passed inspection;
“No inspection ready unit has done well in combat”

“Any ship is a minesweeper…………….. once”

“The easy way is always mined”

“If you see a bomb technician running…. try to keep up with him…”

“Anything you do can get you shot, including doing nothing”

“Anyone that said that the pen is mightier than the sword has never encountered automatic weapons”

“If you hear the words… “eject, eject, eject”… the last two will be echoes”

“It is generally inadvisable to eject over the area you just bombed”

“The three most commonly heard last words are… “Did you feel that”; What’s that noise; “Oh Shit”

“When you are short of everything but the enemy, you are in combat”

“If you find yourself in a fair fight, you didn’t plan your mission properly”

“Flexibility is the key to tactical success… indecision is the key to flexibility”

“There are more planes in the ocean, than submarines in the sky”

“Incoming fire has the right of way”

“No man is a leader until his appointment is ratified in the hearts and minds of his men”

Sign seen on the instrument panel of an A-10 Warthog…. “1. Don’t touch anything. 2. Keep your mouth shut”

… and this is rather good…

“The three best things in life are… “a good landing, a good orgasm and a good bowel movement”… landing on a carrier in rough seas, at night is one of the few opportunities in life where you get to experience all three at the same time.”

… and last but certainly not least….

“FRIENDLY FIRE….. ISN’T”

Have you read or seen excerpts from... "The Art of War"... by the author, Sun Tzu, a high-ranking military general, strategist and tactician.

That book, its' contents and the above group of statements can all be applied to life, business and most other interactions we face daily.

I highly recommend the reading of the above book... life and business is rather complicated and the thoughts here can give a bit of insight to your negotiations through it.

Again, just some advice, worth every penny of it... take it or leave it.
