I wanted to touch on PC 847.5. Out of State Agents do not understand to much about and some things if there is a fee charged to obatian one is not fair. How much do you really know about it? Have you heard of some getting in hot water for not getting one? THIS IS THE LAW IN CALIFORNIA .Any agent you hire who is working legally and did not mention this to you is working ilegally. More counties are being educated about this. I can say personally Alameda ,Sacramento ,Santa Clara ,Orange County to name a few has been educated on Agents not getting the petition signed. One company got fined . The Judges are willing to press charges etc. |

I whole heartedly concur!! There are far, far too many recovery people here who are not compliant with the provisions of this section of California Code. THIS IS THE LAW...NO EXCEPTIONS WHATSOEVER!! |

I did and they got it done. We did not get off of the bond because the county refused to extradite, but we were compliant and within the law. Scott |

I personally enjoy getting called in chambers and educating the judges. Having them pull thier law books from the libary and reference it, and see you have everthing they require and more.Which leaves no room for doubt. I also show them I'm certified to do the job. I'm within the law. Some of the sayings you get while trying obtain your PC847.5 petition signed,20 years never seen this, put yourself on calendar, come back tomorrow, you are in the wrong spot. It may take you 30 min ,it may take you 5 hours. Depends on who you meet, how many you have to argue your point too, how many you have to educate, finding the right judge, finding the right court room and/or time of day etc etc etc. You have to be prepared and know where and what you need. I have had a judge send thier court clerk to walk down to the record clerk record my petition and make copies and handed it back to me. Then request if I know recovery or bail agents working illegally in her county please notify the courts or her directly. Mr. Crew had the opportunity to witness one with me in Alameda County. We tried my usaul mid day tactic and had to ague my piont with 3 different people to let them know I was rght, they were wrong etc. The Judge was so happy to meet with me that she opened up to me about here family. |

The proper authorities in Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County have been properly educated as well. Pretty soon every jurisdiction within the State of California will be up to snuff on this topic. The days of the "snatch and grab" are ultimately coming to an end. It's also interesting to note that this law has been on the books since 1961, yet very few judges, court clerks and district attorney's have ever heard anything about it. What does this tell you? |

One can skirt the law, but eventually that book will be thrown at you. The problem will continue to exist until an example is made. |
