For those of you on the East Coast, keep a strong watch on this one. The US model has it going up the East Coast and turning in to upstate NY and the Maritime Provinces of Canada, while the European model has it coming right up the Chesapeake Bay. This is a very large storm with potential flood damage and due to the trees still with leaves, power outages effecting millions.

Be prepared and be safe!

Make sure you have done the following.... fill your cars with gas, your generators with gas and extra container with gas, fill your bathtub with water and get a few cases of bottled water.... canned goods, batteries, ammo and then sit down and take a nap. Scott, Gene, Yak, Dave.... your in a direct line... be safe... I'm a bit out of the way although it may hit close...

To be honest this storm actually was not any different that a normal heavy rain day..

We got some flooding on local streets due to pour drainage systems, but this happens everytime it rains hard and alot at one particular time. Some Palm Tree Leaves down.. a few trees reported came down on the news closer to Fort Lauderdale (North of Miami) but everything is calm now.. Cloudy and Damp outside currently as of 11:30 EST

At least my cars got free Car Washes with Blow Dry ! =)

Last major rain storm the Washington /Metro area had was June 29, 2012 and over a million homes were without power for up to seven days. My was one of them, no power for the full seven days. l

Now the utilities commission has raised the rates that customers must pay so that the power company can improve service.

I agree with being prepared . . . all of you over there be very very safe. Scott, I really like your idea for spare propane for the grill

One of the models they were showing on the News here, shows that it may make a direct hit on DC . . . perhaps the fools can leave town for the week and it will head out to sea instead . . . .

The latest news doesn't look good..I was supposed to go back Nov 6 to see my parents, but with what they are saying with the damage and potential long term power ouages, I am not going unless something changes...

And Scott...the Home Depot here has plenty of generators :)
