i live in richland count illinois and cant understand why in the world is our drug enforcement officer still on the county team. he was suspended from the force 3 years ago for the use of meth. i know this because he is a relative of distance. all he had to do was rehab and was allowed back on. anybody make sense of this?

The Police Unions in Illinois are very strong and protect their membership. It was probably because of the union, he followed the protocol of going to rehab and the police department probably had no choice in the matter for a first offense.

i understand that but thats not setting a very good example. kids will think drugs are okay and if they get caught all they have to do is rehab.
olney il, three years ago was labeled one of the top ten cities in the us for meth busts and users.

Oh I agree with you! I do not like it one bit and for myself unions serve no purpose anymore. We need to thank them for weekends, holidays, sick days, vacations etc but all they offer now is protection. I think this happened in your area with this officer that has no business arresting, investigating or doing any type of arrest of any kind.

Of course this is just my opinion.

Unfortunately there's always going to be a few rotten apples in every barrell, I recently had a Detective from a neigboring State try to shut down my investigation by complaining to everyone he could think of and accussing me of acting beyond the scope of my authority, my only actions in his jurisdiction was questioning the Father of a fugitive who is a high level drug trafficker that jumped bail in my State on major drug and weapons charges, I questioned the skips father at his PO's office, the father who has drug and violence convictions was very uncooperative and belligerent and stated that he was going to complain to his "friend" at the Sheriff's Department.

Sure enough this detective began raising hell about me being in his jurisdiction, I'm just wondering why this detective was so concerned about me bothering the skips father who is also a criminal.

I ended providing the info I had to the local PD and they grabbed the skip.

We have a police sergeant in our immediate area who is consistently taking credit for the apprehensions we effect. This happens whenever there is a higher prioritary case such as child molestation, etc. He then appears on the TV nightly news claiming credit. Even the cops he works with don't like him.

After a small verbal exchange between myself and the sergeant a while ago he said, "I have your number!" My reply? "Where did you get it, Sarge. From your wife's personal phone book?" I could actually see the rage in his face! He walked out of the booking area and we haven't spoken since.

Word about the altercation traveled throughout the police department and a lot of cops loved the way I handled the sergeant.

This is the same uniformed clown that took all the credit for tracking and capturing a particularly dangerous child predator/molester that Hadley found in Wisconsin.
