Post subject:  Truth be Told! Not by the media!

I though that you would like to read some truth's that are happening in Iraq that the news media will not or does not tell us because it would mean we are doing some good over there.

Did You Know?!

Did you know that 47 countries have reestablished their embassies in Iraq?

Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi people?

Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under rehabilitation,
263 schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been built in Iraq?

Did you know that Iraq's higher educational structure consists of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all currently operating?

Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in January 2005 for the re-established Fulbright program?

Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational?! They have 5-
100-foot patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment.

Did you know that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft (under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers?

Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando Battalion?

Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained and equipped police officers?

Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over 3500 new officers each 8 weeks?

Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq? They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities.

Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by mid October?

Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and phone use has gone up 158%?

Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations?

Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004?

Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a televised debate recently?

OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW!

WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW? OUR MEDIA WOULDN'T TELL US! Somehow it isn't compatible with what the New York Times, Washington Post, the Democratic leadership, etc want us to believe. Horrors this isn't another Viet Nam ??? You mean integrity and responsibility, honor and country, standards and dedication WORKS ???

Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site.

Robert,

Thanks for posting what the liberal media will not share.

Arguments have been made that the Democrats win back their power if the U.S. "cuts & runs," fails miserably, and a constant flow of bad news concerning our troops continues to be tallied by certain media outlets.

It's a sad day when U.S. service men and women have to hear people in office implying that they are "terrorizing" women and children, losing the war, and cannot win.

I'm sure the bad guys are hearing the same rhetoric and are giddy about winning the war not on the battlefield but in Washington.

Ironicallly that information supports an arguement for withdrawal rather than continued deployments.

All the chaos the media currently shows support the argument that we need to stay in order to continue to help them, as well as need more troops and money to do so... but if what the DOD website says is true, then we are not really needed there any more.

Don you are right in one case, that it supports a withdrawal but not just yet. They the people of Iraq would be swallowed up by the insurgency if we left too soon and right now that is too soon. I would guess that the troops will start reducing their strength and numbers no later than 1 year from now if not sooner. We need to make sure after all the sacrifices that have been made that the Iraqi people are ready to secure their own nation without our help before we pull our troops from there. We have come a long way since Saddam was ousted from power or better yet the Iraqi people have come a long way, you can see that in the facts that I copied in the start of this thread. There is still quite a bit more to be accomplished so the nay sayers will have no room for arguing that it was a failure. If we left now do you really think that the liberals will stand up and acknowledge all of the accomplishments that have been achieved? Never ..... till their dieing breath! It would mean that a President they hate actually did something good for the world in defeating terrorism in that part of the world.

I do not know about anyone else but, I am proud of what we have done, even more so now that I got to read some of the facts that the liberal media refuses to show or tell us about.

Personally I too am proud of what our soldiers and civilian contractors have accomplished over there... what I'm not proud of is the BS surrounding our reasons for going there. Since when did the "baton of hate" pass from Osama to Saddam?

No WMDs were found... and that reason was BS as well. Hell Bush just came out in a speech saying it was a mess up in intelligence.. but since we are already there... LOL. Can't really say we did it because of the conditions Saddams people were living in, hell there are worse areas in the world that we do nothing about. I'm sure we haven't forgotten mogedishu or places in africa as well as other countries?

I still can't believe we don't have that knuckle head (Osama) yet.... and virtually no media coverage regarding him either, odd. In any case I think we just need to take over the world already and screw the political posturing and lieing.

I'm all for imposing our right (might makes right) but let's cut the BS and just come out and say it... we know it's all about the money.... some of us just are not afraid to say it. Hell, I'm all for the war to keep going, longer it goes on, the more chance I have of being called up :-) !

I still think that we should have followed Patton's advice when he wanted to invade russia back in the day when we had the bulk of our forces there. One of the greatest generals in the world and we didn't listen to him for political reasons.

In all seriousness I think this would be a much better planet if it was the United Earth of America.

Would make "bounty hunting a lot easier" LOL! Of course we would need a more current US Supreme Court ruling supporting our powers..... hahaha.

Point well taken Don.

On one point the baton passed pretty easily since the Terrorists were being trained in Iraq and Al-Zarqawi (spelling?) was there doing it personally with the blessing of Saddam. No WMD's? that is right, quite a screw up by the intelligence community and the Democrats even saw the same intelligence and supported going into Iraq. Now we can finally get over that point or do we continue to focus on it? What about the empty bunkers that had UN seals on them with dangerous chemicals and weapons that disappeared before we got to them? Can we assume that they were raided when we entered Iraq and got to them and, maybe the insurgents got them and that has been what they have been using? I do not know for sure but, makes a good case for why there may not have been any WMD's present when we got there or just down right lousy intelligence gathering.

Other places in Africa.... hmmmmm. I do remember a President from my home state (thank god he now lives in NY) that would not supply the equipment needed in Somalia to get the job done right. That is a fact on him not sending in the right amount of support equipment. I also remember him admitting to having Osama in his sights 3 different times and did not have the courage to pull the trigger. I guess we ought to just shoot him for dereliction of duty as President.

As far as taking over the world...... that scared me down to my boots when George Bush #1 said New World Order!

I was told by someone that was with special forces in afghanistan that they know where Osama is but, they are keeping tabs on his network to bring the whole shit and shabootle down. They have been gathering intel on who comes and goes and that makes sense to me.

I agree on the Patton remark and I agree with much of what you had to say but, I have a different political take on it than you do and now we know which way the 2 of us votes. 8)

LOL... That's one of the best things about our country. We can both agree and disagree. In some nations that can't be done without being shot by the ruling political party. Though I must say there are some here in America who, while claiming the right of free speech for themselves, get really upset when exercised by others.

Regarding Mr. Osama... especially since it was our CIA who trained him and probably most of his leaders anyway (definition of irony).

The CIA as well as other "shadow organizations" have done a lot to other people in other countries to garner the hatred towards us. Now our soldiers and citizens pay the price for those foolhardy plays for power.

Let us not forget how we entered the war against Germany back in the day. The politicians of the time needed a reason to enter the war and 'poof' Pearl Harbor. Too many reports saying we had intelligence the Japanese fleet was about to attack as well as reports the day of, missing log entries, etc. etc. to believe we didn't know it was going to happen.... the sick thing is that our Govt. was willing to sacrifice all those American lives just for a reason to openly enter the war. Disgusting. While I agree we needed to enter that war, we did not have to do it in such a way. A note... the Pearl Harbor scenario (with the exception of it being a military target) is suspiciously similiar to the 9/11 incident regarding the amount of intel we had prior to the actual event.... and yet it happened anyway, hmmm....

Having worked in govt. agencies (military and state) I must say I do not trust politicians nor people who find the need to seek power. They will slit their own mother's throat if they thought she was a 'liability' or they needed just that much more blood for their plans.

As far as the WMD's goes. It's like me saying I shot you in the head because I 'thought' you had a gun. As I recall there was just a case in florida where a bondsman shot a skip because he 'thought' he had a weapon.... I think he's serving a life sentence now yes? In addition, wasn't North Korea actually TESTING nuclear weapons... not just speculating about them? I have not heard of any plans to invade them just yet, or china, or Iran (maybe in the works though).

I'm just saying if we are going to say we are doing something for a reason then let it be the reason. No BS. How can we kick the door down of one house and take over because we 'think' there are criminals in there and then ignore the half a dozen other houses who actually have gangsters in full colors and automatic weapons sitting on the porch slinging dope?

I hate to agree but I'm all for what Bush said about a 'new world order'.. has to happen. Will solve all sorts of problems, hell a layout is already in place with the UN and the current attempt to have the european nations sign a "Constitution" (currently meeting resistance).

With America being the best system of govt. (personal opinion barring internal corruption) I think the US would make the most logical Ruling Nation.

We couldn't do Desert Shield or Storm without first getting permission to stage in this country and fly over that country...

I could be off, but during the initial invasion leading us to today, I believe it was Turkey who decided at the very last minute not to allow the 4th Infantry Division to stage or launch from their soil. The 4th's mission would have pincered many of the creeps now causing many of the problems since the first days of the war.

Work with me here:

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't Iran roughly situated between Iraq and Afghanistan?

Isn't it true that we now have boots on the ground and aircraft on both sides of Iran?

Isn't it true that Iran is going forward in its nuclear program?

Isn't it true that Iran's president is calling for Israel to be wiped off the map and that the Holocaust never happened?

We no longer are restricted by the 72-hours or so it takes the 82nd Airborne or 75th Ranger Regiment to be put into action, and we no longer need permission to stage or launch to go preemptive against a country that is supected of funding international terrorism.

Whatever the case, we cannot afford a Greater Iran, and we are there now.

In any event, I have a t-shirt with the American flag and a caption that reads: "These Colors Don't Run."
