Dose any one have information as how to go about recovering a skip that may be on a reservation. Is it governed soley by the reservation authorities, the feds, or on a state level. I do know that most reservations do restict different activities. Most also restrict outsiders posestion of firearms mainly conceled. Has this ever been a problem for any ones and their recovery? |

I live near a Cherokee Indian Reservation and no way will I apprehend anyone there. I lure them outside the reservation and do the re-arrest. There are people here that know much more than me on this subject, but that's my take. |

There are Towns on reservation land that have their own PD, Mayor etc... in those places it's business as usual. Then there are areas where pretty much just members of the tribe live, they have their own Police or Marshals that sort of co-exist with State Police, County Sheriff's etc.. These Tribal Law Enforcers are very territorial and tend to be a problem for private contract enforcers such as bondsman or recovery agents. I learned from experience that it's best to just not deal with them, that means as previously stated getting the skip off the reservation, or if need be extracting them covertly, quickly and quietly. |

Cool, Thanks forthe info. A) Basic quick, and quiet, B) or make sure I'm on good terms, & know the rules about that particular reservations tribel laws,. Something tells me to consider option A. Could be the most likely in most cases. |

Before you 'sneak' onto any reaservation to apprehend someone, keep in mind that all most reservations are considered sovereign nations and by taking someone off the reservation without their consent and the knowledge of the tribal police, you have violated several Federal laws that may end up in serious felony convictions for yourself. As Scott said, there are legal ways to apprehend on a reservation; most generally require the knowledge and assistance of the tribal police or U.S. Marshalls. I have conducted LEGAL operations on reservations here in California and it can be done. |

If your fugitve's charge is a felony and it is listed in ncic with nationwide extradition, then why wouldn't you enlist the aid of the local leo's ? Secondly, your open and blatant confession to conspire to committ numerous felonies such as kidnapping for starters greatly concerns me. I strongly urge you to re-think your strategy. I'd prefer not to read about you in the newspaper causing the industry another black eye. |

Here in South FL we have 2 reservations (Miccosukee and Seminole Tribes) and getting someone that lives on these Reservations is like many said above, not impossible, but difficult, as they protect their own...I would contact the local tribal law enforcement and tell them your situation.. then what has happened every time in my personal cases when I have had a skip on a rez .. some family member comes out with a large envelope and pays the total amount of the Forfeiture and we go on our way to the court and pay the Bond Unit their money.. The End. I have yet to have someone that FTA come out and turn themselves in to me. But as long as I have the amount of the bond .. and my office does not have to pay out on the estreature.. everyone is a happy camper.. now some bondsman may take it personally and try to still apprehend the subject .. be careful wandering onto Indian Land .. you might end up the one in handcuffs and be the one needing to get a Federal Bond to get out of Jail.. I would not carry any gun onto rez land.. you are only asking for trouble.. I believe there is a HUGE THREAD in regards to Indian Reservations on this forum / Try using the Search Feature .. it really works..
