So Minnesota's Commerce department revoked all Bail bondsman's access to DMV searches. This is due to 1 bail bond agent (who i will not name) but screwed it up for the rest of us. Now we are stuck with hoping a LE officer we happen to know is on duty or website searches. We have tried Locateplus, actually used it for about a year, but just seems to turn up too much wrong information. Currently we are using IRBSearch which seems to somewhat do the job, but not like we want it to. Maybe it is just we were spoiled with the DMV access with real time real records, but either way we are currently looking for a better solution with more accurate and up to date information. Any suggestions? |

No access in Virginia to DMV either. I think licensed PI's may have that source... SS would be extremely nice too but having a friend on the inside is about the only option and that source needs to be protected at all costs... I have found that addresses for the delivery of SS related checks is probably one of the best sources... that and veterans info... but this data is almost... I say almost impossible to obtain at our level. Watching some of these newer TV shows makes your mouth water as to the access... NCIS and CSI particularly... so quick and full access to any and all......... wow............ how great would that make our job.... humintel is great but that electronic stuff is tops. Ya know, I have used FindMySkip for years and it seems to be just as effective as most... the data base on all these sights is very similar.. and the costs on FMS only hits you if they provide info... no monthly... which is fine for someone that does not use it as often. Most have different levels of access depending on your license. I always think about what we are putting on the 'Public' sector here but this info is available anywhere so I guess we can discuss it at this level. Some info we will keep to ourselves... wouldn't want everyone to know our little secrets... |

I agree, if we had acces like you see on NCIS or the otehr shows, 99% of field work would be gone. But that will enver happen. |

I have DMV access to every state but only instant live in Indiana, I can also pull instant Indiana Criminal from the Indiana State police. The Police can not give any information out as to personal intel, they have input a case number to get information. A lot of data has been taked away do to misuse. I do have more access than bondsman or BEA do. |

Yea Mr Martz, if you do have that kind of access, we will definately pay for information. 99% of all of our skips prior to getting DMV taken away were ultimately found using DMV. Now the leg work that goes into a skip sometimes isnt even worth the bond amount. PM me if your interested in helping us out on this.. |
