Related to recent laws involving "hands free" cell phone talking and all the "crap" that is out there for you to buy... thought I would just give a high five to this product... it is cheap, simple to use and works great... Less than $60 at Costco and made by a company that I have been using for at least 6 years. It is called a "Jabra Cruiser", item #450775. You simply pair it with your phone, stick it on the sun visor and from then on... all you do is get in your car with your phone on and turn on the unit... it says... "turned on" (I always liked to hear a female voice telling me I turned her on... but that is another story that you will not hear just now... I think that happened to me twice... ) oops, sorry......... random thoughts in an old mind... When you cut off it announces that too... the phone speaks through the little speaker on the unit or you can play it through your car stereo... I would frankly advise against that because anyone that tunes to that frequency and is close to you... can hear your conversation... but the on board speaker works fine and totally hands free... I recommend this little unit as a very viable alternative to some of the more expensive units that frankly often have problems. I can't speak for someone elses' involvement but I sent a Jabra unit back to the factory one time ... out of warranty and the volume button stopped working... they sent me a new unit for shipping only... that was very nice... BTW... someone (not me) informed me that a blue tooth in Arkansas and W. Virginia is called a "green tooth"... is that true??? You have my permission to blast me LuVonda... |

Bill My Garmin also has a blue tooth function and I can dial from my GPS and receive calls through the GPS in much the same fashion. But, being a confessed gadget freak, I may look into this. Maryland just went all hands free last Friday. Scott |

I have Sprint service and they sell similar versions of these as well, including a fully installed (hard wired) version. Example: The Motorola T325 Portable Blue-tooth Hands-free Car Kit Speaker-phone gives you the freedom to make and receive phone calls in your vehicle while safely keeping your hands on the steering wheel. Other features: * Powerful dual speakers for loud clear audio * Caller name identification * Automatic power on and off when you enter or leave your vehicle * Direct access to the favorite contacts you use most frequently while in your vehicle * BING 411 access for quick access to information I am thinking of getting this one myself. |

I have a Jabra over the ear piece and my GPS links through Blue Tooth to my phone also. One of our guys has the unit that Bill is talking about ...... The only problem I find with any of the speaker type Blue Tooth is how hard it is for me to understand them. My example would be that it sounds like someone talking through a tube. 90% of the time, it is fine but there are times when I just hear The Peanuts teacher speaking. I have come to depend on my "over the ear piece" due to these others not being right for me.....I hate being on the phone with a client and having to say "I am sorry. What was that.....say it again.....I can not understand what you are saying......hang on please. I have to disconnect my Blue Tooth". I do realize that it could all be my hearing though (or lack of good hearing) |

"Hey Bill, why do you have a banana in your ear???" and he answered.... "Sorry, I didn't hear you... I have a banana in my ear..." Stupid story but still makes me smile... So, Sno............... "take the banana out of your ear..." |

I have one of the Jabra Bluetooth speakers and it works great.you can also hit an "FM" button on it and it will play thru ur stereo of your vehicle too, which makes it sound even better.Delaware is going into full effect of the cellphone laws come Jan 1st,so I'm glad I got one of these.Best part about getting it,it was free. One of my co-workers got a new one so he gave me his old one! |
