Post subject: | PI and Bounty Hunter? |
I just have one question, I am a licensed private investigator and own my a PI company in the state of Tennessee and I was wondering can I also conduct bounty hunting without any further certifications? Any input would be greatly welcome. |

You would only need to take the continuing education class offered by the TAPBA, technically your suppossed to take the class but most recovery agents in TN haven't probably because it seems that no one is enforcing it. |

Take the class do it the right way here is thier web site http://www.tapba.org/ it only takes 1 day and it also allows you to write bonds if you ever whant to seek a second income. It's also a good place to make contacts. |

The Statutes requiring Recovery Agents a/k/a Bounty Hunters to take the continuing education are Tennessee Act 40-11-401. Taking this class alone will not qualify you to write bonds, if you wish to get licensed as a bondsman you will have to apply for a license from the TN Department of Insurance. |
