Post subject:  Website update

Guys and Gals, just updated my website with Bail release conditions and Alcohol/Drug treatment resources. Please review and critique for me, all input is welcome as I have learned from all of you. If you haven't signed my guest book, please do so. I am trying to figure out how tio link it to Facebook, so info there would be appreciated. My wife says that I belong on Antiques Roadshow, so learning the website thing is a pain in the butt, but much needed.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

If you have not created a company facebook page, you can go to the following link and make a company facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

From there, you can link to your twitter account and promote the facebook page.

You can create a link on your website via here once you have the facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/facebook-widgets/share.php

This will give you an html code to place in your website that will show the Facebook logo button and when clicked will take them directly to your facebook page. Note - you can do the same for a twitter account. However, please take this as constructive cristism, you need to consider revising your site to work with mobile platforms. It's hard on my old eyes with an iPhone, but make sure it works on all mobile platforms, Flash doesn't work on iPhone for example. Don't limit yourself to just Facebook, there are tons of other sites to include, Digg, Fark, Delicious, MySpace, Mixx, Linkedin, and Stumbleupon to name a few. Also, the links are great for the help centers, but consider a pull down box, so a customer doesn't have to scroll by County.

And make sure you are getting links back for the ones you post as well as keeping info up to date, i.e. Christmas thoughts? What happened to Easter  Invest a small amount into Google key words (you pay per click - it's very small unless you are getting a few thousands hits an hour). Also, Bing is affordable right now as they are fighting with Google for business. If you have any other questions or if there is anything else I can do to help - pm me. Overall, outline is neat, simple, and to the point - exactly what a website should be.

Rab
Thanks for the info, I will contact you offline when I have time. I tried to pay people to do this for me, as I not only don't have the time to do it in the first place, I have to take the time to learn it as well! I agree on the mobile app comparability, I just don't know how to do that either.

As far as Google Adwords, I pay them between $240.00 and $250.00 per month, so I would be curious as to your definition of cheap!

Holy Cr@p - you are either paying a ton for unused key words on Google or you are getting major website traffic! I was going to say between 50 & 80 a month! You sure one of Gene's half dozen secretaries isn't clicking your google ad a hundred times a day until you buy him lunch? :D JK.

I am in school M-Sat 0800-1800, so anytime after that is fine.
