I would call sheriff's dept. of the county that you believe they are in, and see what they recommend. They are going to be the ones who you would have to be concerned with. If it is in a municipality, call the police dept. as well. Where in NC do you believe they are at? You can pm me if you'd like, I'm right on the border of TN and NC. I've worked with the sheriff/police in Banner Elk, Elk Park, Roan Mountain, etc. and they have no problem with us picking up skips in their jurisdiction (we notify them in advance of course, generally face to face), and they usually are willing to give us a hand if needed. If you really need a direct answer, you can try calling the district attorney's office of that district and see what they can tell you. As with everything in this business, it is best to start at the bottom of the chain of command and work your way up. Sometimes the way the law reads doesn't always mean that is the way it is enforced. Hope this helps.

Not all bail bonding companies are insurance backed. We are not. We are backed by capital we paid to the courts. What does the bail assoc. say about these companies if I may ask.
