are they still in custody? you may be able to surrender to the Jail that they are in with a 'hold" for the Jail you wrote out of

I would like LuVonda suggests, do a jail surrender. Notify the county that you bailed them from and let them know that you plan to surrender them while they are still in custody. Make sure your county issues a warrant for them so that a hold is placed on them.

If they try to bail again, they will have to post bonds for your cases also, thereby relieving you of any further liability.

In CA, some courts or da's will issue a "no bail" warrant if they are notified that a defendant has picked up a new case while out on bail for a previous arrest. So check with the court and da office to see if they will help.

If your bail contract has a clause about picking up a new case while out on your bond, you can use that as a breach of contract that will give you grounds for the surrender.

I would not hesitate on this. If they bail out with some other bail agency, they have more reason skip as they now have several cases going and most likely are looking at jail time.

Also notify the parole office. They may place a hold on the parole violator.

Not sure about GA... but in Virginia... pull a bailpiece offline, fill it out, print it, get it signed by the appropriate court clerk, take it to the jail and have it served. Bond is done.

Do not dilly dally......... be quick... and you might call the jail they are being held in and notify them or the magistrate that you are revoking the bond you have so they will not release him on another bond... be quick about it... sometimes the magistrate won't honor your request, so move fast on this.

Blackjack, you are asking questions that need to be asked of your general agent... I can only relate to VA... I assume you are under another agent... unless you have a direct contract you answer up to someone and that someone should give you all this info... not to be short but these are things that you absolutely need to know in order to remain viable in this business.... If I were you, I would back off writing till I had a full handle on the laws cause you are fixin' to cost yourself some money.... hope this does help you and as you may know... I usually come straight at you with my advise.... so don't be upset that I tell you these little tidbits of wisdom, I am sometimes not as polished as the more professional ones on this site.... Good luck my friend.......... move quickly on these revocations.
