I think I may have made an error related to South Carolina CCW's.

I believe SC honors CCP's from my state of Virginia. I have been under the assumption that they did not but having researched a bit I do believe they honor VA CCP's.

I obtained this and other useful info from the following link... http://www.usacarry.com/index.php

I believe their information if fairly up to date and factual. If you know otherwise, please jump in and straighten me out.........................

Quote:
Permit Honored:
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia

Anyone have any updated info on the state of SC.... I see a couple of you guys in SC... I initially thought you could not obtain a non-resident CCP, but according to the link below you can get a non-resident??? and also, they honor non-resident in many states.... namely VA... ?

I of course have read different sites that have info on them but these laws are so screwed up and change so quickly... I was just wondering if my info is accurate.

My reference was: http://www.usacarry.com/index.php and the info seems to be contradictory...

Bill,

I am a SC CWP instructor and to the best of my knowledge this is the defenitive source for the current SC reciprocity as of Sept, 12 2008.

I, like you, have heard from other people and read in various forums that a new "list" is being worked on.....however it hasn't materialized yet as law. I tell my students to refer to the SLED site for what the current law is.

Hope it helps!

Mitch

I read the site... I think it is accurate, as for the non-resident issuance... not sure about that, but since they honor my permit there is no need..........

thanks Mitch...
