Post subject:  GEORGIA BAIL RECOVERY AGENT SYMPOSIUM

Hey everybody. I am contemplating the idea of holding a bail recovery agent symposium or seminar in the south Atlanta area in the very near future. This would be a 5-8 hour get-together to discuss any and all issues tabled in regards to BEA's in Georgia. There would be a section that covers all laws, rules, regulations, and requirements of a BEA in Georgia. Another section would cover questions and answers with everyone in attendance being allowed to ask and answer questions. Most importantly, there would be that special time for fellowship amongst agents.
There would be a cost (probably $100.00) to help pay for and cover any expenses incurred for the meeting location. This would be held at a descent hotel conference area. Very reasonable rooms would be available to those wishing or needing to stay overnight.

I haven't set this in stone yet. I wanted to put it before all my buds and pals on FRN and get your input on this idea. I know ya'll won't hold back on your thoughts and opinions. Who would or wouln't be interested in attending? Everybody give me your opinions. Thanks, Jim

Mr. Elkins,

Just my opinion on the matter, this event, while admirable, is regional specific. Thus, it isn't going to benefit anyone other than Ga. BEA's/Pi's/Bondspersons. So why should anyone outside of Ga. invest hard cash to attend an event that has no financial return ? Times are hard right now for most of us.

Now if this event were sanctioned by the GAPBA, TAPBA, etc. had industry leader's as guest speakers, had industry vendors, training events, etc. In other words if I were going to gain or benefit in some way by attending from out of state, then I would consider attending.

This may also be what some others are considering in their decision on whether or not to participate. What do we get for our $100 ?

I appreciate the input. Maybe this extremely rough "draft" (or idea as of now) along with everyone's input and advise on the forum may turn into something huge someday for the industry nationwide. I appreciate the input.

Now, where did that co-signer say the skip's girlfriend was working.....................back to reality!

Everybody have a great weekend.

I think you have an excellent idea Mr. Elkins. Getting agents from your state together to exchange ideas and knowledge will be valuable to all of you, not to mention the "getting to know each other" aspect. Good luck to you!!

Thanks Miss Kathy. Just trying to organize a little outside the association. We have an excellent association in the GAPB, so it's nothing against it. Just an idea I had bouncing around in the back of my head. If it goes through and works out well, maybe it could turn into something nationwide. Wow, hundreds of bail agents and recovery agents under one roof (or even in one town) together at the same time. Look out Mardis Gras, we're taking over !!!
