I currently reside in Nebraska, which has very few commercial bail bond providers. Because I am very new to this I am trying to find any options I may have. What I was wondering is how the state handles a civilian bringing in a person who has a warrant out for their arrest. I'm sure the state would gladly take them into custody but do they offer any kind of compensation for the recovery of such individuals.

You are getting into a gray area here as there is no authority to arrest, citizen arrest can be used for certain circumstances but it could backfire on you to, as a civil suite could be brought against. This area is very complex and if you don't know what you are doing can land you in a big trouble. If you are new to the business this is an area you do not need to go in. There are thousands of warrants that have no bounty on them. If you are talking about the post office wanted posters you can find who ever you like and you may be entitled to any bounty that is attached to the subject

Its very simple.

Go to your local pd or sheriff website. See if they list their most wanteds. Then read the descripton and DISCLAIMER.

If the disclaimer says they will pay a reward, go do it. However, I have never seen a local, state of federal wanted poster that stated it will pay a reward for the capture of anyone. They have all stated they will pay a reward for information leading to the arrest and or conviction of the wanted person.

They always state that you should NOT try to apprehend the subject yourself.

At least those are the ones I have seen.

Aj,
Let me explain it to you like this you live in Lincoln let me tell you Chief Casady will have a room waiting for you for along time if you decide to start picking people up. Nebraska bail is handled thru the courts you do not I repeat you don't have any arrest authorization or powers of arrest you can and will be arrested. I don't know your background or anything about you or any training you do or do not have, but I have been doing this since 1992 I have many contacts within Nebraska law enforcement agencies and to be honest it sounds like you really don't know anything about fugitive recovery not trying to slam you in any way just being honest. My advice to you is if you want to turn criminals in use the crime stoppers line and educate yourself learn everything you can, understand how this business runs this is a great site with tons and tons of information and very helpful respected people that have been doing this for a long time. We don't want you to go out and get yourself in trouble and end up in jail or bring unwanted attention. I really hope this helps answer your question on local wanted persons but please leave it up to the police to handle the arrests. So to answer your question if a civilian brings in a wanted party sure they will take him but believe me they will also take you!
