Pardon my failure to site whom said it, but what was mentioned was something along the lines of keeping a tactical advantage and not giving it up. I am not sure why, but it kind of stuck with me when my partner and I drudged into a 2 hour stakeout / on-foot "night ops" investigative work in a high drug trafficking area where our skip has been known to frequent. The cover of night is sometimes the best cover you can hope for, especially with tweekers who are up extremely late.

It was the idea of keeping a tactical advantage that stuck in my head, I found myself carefully planning walking routes, places to park where I can watch homes from afar, and even who to approach for investigative work.

From a newbie recovery agent to the one who posted what I mentioned, thank you. And thanks to all these other pearls of wisdom, I am certain in my tenure I will have my own to contribute. For now, I've got $15K in liability to secure for my client, and will be scouring these forums for any little tibits I can find that will help refine my own "tricks of the trade".
